Jenna and Emma – Week 2

4 Apr

This may seem like a strange image, but it is a caravan that has been brightly painted. It’s in one of our neighbour’s backyards, and serves as an office for them during the day. This is something we both see from our bedrooms and wake up to every morning.

Inside it’s full of the usual workplace paraphernalia, but it makes us smile to see someone’s effort to cheer themselves up on their ‘way’ to work, and in turn giving their neighbours something to look at too.

This got us to thinking. We’ve personally never been one for decorating a personal work space, as in the end we just end up distracting ourselves by what we’ve put up – tidy desk, tidy mind. But we find it interesting to see what other people do; it gives an insight into who they are as a person, especially creatives as they always have something interesting to look at. The little idiosyncrasies and ‘organised’ messes that people have on their desk always give constant sources information, and very often strike up a conversation. For instance we would love to talk to the neighbour who painted their caravan like this! Maybe next Halloween we can knock on their door, and have good chat…

Ta Tar for now.

Jenna and Emma – Week 1

21 Mar

After one week, two dubious half pints of Guinness (which Jenna claims didn’t make her ill) and the formation of a cheesy aroma (from the cheese we were testing – not us), we can honestly say this is one of the friendliest agencies.

For a first week of drinking beer, eating cheese, watching Top Gear and thinking up ideas, we’re beginning to think that advertising was the right industry to get into!

The briefs we’ve been given so far, have been really enjoyable although we now think we should get compensation for the amount of future cheese we will have to buy over the years!

Enough about cheese!

We look forward to coming into the office and interacting in a bit of banter with G across the desk. He enlightens us with positivity every morning with his sheer bluntness and believes that if we end up homeless on the streets, it will at least be an experience. This along with the fact that everyone has come up to introduce themselves, has made us feel very welcomed.

Ta Tar for now.
